Getting Started

To receive or send electronic transactions, you will need the following equipment and software capabilities:

• A computer--mainframe or PC.

• Translation software to format your business elements into the ANSI X12 standard formats for transmission or interpretation.

• Communications hardware--a modem and telephone line.

• Communications software to handle sending and receiving data.

• A Value Added Network (VAN) to handle the last two communications items above.

Energy Future Holdings will provide you with information on any EDI transaction set you will be sending to and/or receiving from Energy Future Holdings.

This information will provide a guideline for the format for the EDI documents. If you are interested in becoming an EDI partner, please complete the online EDI Questionnaire.
