Oncor Coverage Map Oncor serves about one-third of Texas, including the high-growth Dallas-Fort Worth area.

About Oncor:

  • Oncor is Texas's largest regulated electric delivery business and the sixth largest in the U.S. It supplies electricity to approximately 7.5 million consumers in a service area of over 400 communities in east, west and north-central Texas, including Dallas, Fort Worth, Midland, Odessa, Killeen, Waco, Wichita Falls and Tyler.
  • Oncor delivers reliable electricity to one of the nation's highest-growth regions for electricity demand, helping fuel the economy of north Texas and its forecasted long-term annual growth rate of 2%.
  • Solid cost management keeps consumers' delivery costs well below the state average, and investments in technology and infrastructure reflect a goal of industry-leading reliability and efficiency.
  • Oncor is the state's market leader in energy efficiency and in the top 10 nationally, with programs for every socioeconomic class.

Delivering Reliable Power Across Texas:

  • Keeping the Lights On: Reliability is Oncor's top priority. The business is at or near the top quartile for reliability nationally and in the vanguard of utilities seeking to improve service, lower costs and increase efficiency through technology. Oncor's advanced metering initiative will reach all 3 million customers. Oncor is also developing the nation's first broadband-enabled electric "smart grid" to offer even greater benefits to customers and improve delivery system operations.
  • Enhanced Energy Efficiency Programs: Oncor's legacy of helping consumers use electricity more wisely and save money has been significantly enhanced with the closing of the merger. An additional $100 million commitment over the next five years, increasing the total five-year investment to $300 million, will fund aggressive new efforts to reduce electricity use. Take A Load Off, TexasSM, Oncor's new signature program, will help conserve energy, improve environmental quality and hold down the need for new generation facilities as well as provide long-lasting benefits to consumers. Take A Load Off, Texas kicked off in late 2007 with a tour across Oncor's service area to educate consumers about simple measures they can take to conserve energy.
  • Lifetime of Safety: Oncor is in the top 10% of all utilities in safety performance. Lifetime of Safety, its signature electrical safety program, promotes safety awareness to employees and the public with safety tips and demonstrations.
