CEO, Luminant
Profile
David Campbell is CEO of Luminant, a competitive power generation subsidiary of Energy Future Holdings Corp. (EFH), formerly TXU Corp. Luminant's activities include plant and mine operations, wholesale marketing and trading, and construction and development of new power plants.
Campbell and his team ensure the operational and environmental excellence, safe performance and financial success of over 18,300 megawatts of generation in Texas, including 2,300 MW of nuclear-powered and 5,800 MW of coal-fueled generation capacity. Luminant's support for renewable resources has made the company the leading purchaser of wind generation in Texas and the fifth largest in the U.S. Luminant is also undertaking an unprecedented voluntary emissions-reduction program that will cut key emissions from coal-fueled power plants by 20 percent from 2005 levels in the coming years. At the same time, Luminant is adding 2,200 MW of new coal-fueled generation to the Texas electric market. The result will be the addition of low-cost generation sources to meet Texas' power needs and cleaner air for Texas. Luminant is also advancing research and investment in new environmentally sound, next-generation energy technologies.
