Riz Chand, 45, is executive vice president of human resources and administration for Energy Future Holdings Corp. (EFH). In this position, Chand oversees the overall human resources, employee & supplier diversity, and certain other administrative functions for the corporation. He was recruited to the company in June 2005 as senior vice president - human resources, to bring strategic leadership in the human resources area.

Chand leads the creation of a culture of accountability and high performance, with a focus on maximizing human performance. Within in the HR function, he is responsible for ensuring the right organization, leadership, and workforce, at the right time, with the right tools to help the company deliver on its commitments to its stakeholders. This encompasses compensation, benefits, learning and development, leadership and organization development, performance management, employee and labor relations, staffing, and hr services. He is also accountable for employee diversity, ensuring that the EFH workforce is composed of people of diverse backgrounds and skills, to ensure the company can best deliver against the needs of various stakeholders. In addition, he oversees the supplier diversity function, helping to ensure the corporation's procurement activities support the development and utilization of small businesses and businesses owned and operated by women and minorities that can provide quality goods and services competitively to EFH.

Prior to joining EFH, Chand served as vice president of human resources and corporate relations for Kennametal, Inc., a global industrial manufacturing corporation. Earlier in his career, he was vice president of human resources for Aetna International in Hartford, Conn., and was senior vice president of global human resources at Mary Kay Inc. in Dallas. Before joining Mary Kay, Chand was responsible for compensation and benefits for PepsiCo's international foods division and began his human resources career with Hay Management Consultants. Earlier, he worked for Sedco-Forex as an engineer on offshore drilling rigs.

Education
Chand earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in business administration at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
