Profile
Tom Baker, 62, is chairman emeritus of Energy Future Holdings Corp., formerly TXU Corp. He provides the Energy Future Holdings Corp. board and CEO counsel and advice as needed based upon his extensive career in the electricity business in Texas and involvement in the local community.

Baker has a distinguished 36-year track record at TXU, having held leadership positions in generation, utility operations, finance, customer service, rates and regulatory affairs, and public policy. Except for a three-year period when he served as a nuclear missile launch officer in the U.S. Air Force, he has spent his entire career in the energy industry with TXU, culminating in key high-level roles.

He was previously vice chairman of TXU Corp. His responsibilities included coordinating the company's regulatory filings related to the merger transaction with an investor group led by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. and Texas Pacific Group. He also supervised regulatory and legislative affairs and ensures effective communication and cooperation with all regulatory and legislative oversight bodies. In addition, Baker ensured the coordination of these activities with the investor group. Prior to that role, he served as chairman and CEO of Oncor Electric Delivery, TXU's regulated transmission and distribution business. Baker began his career as a plant engineer with Dallas Power & Light in 1968. Baker was elected vice president and then senior vice president of TU Electric and TU Services in the late 1980s. In 1987, he was elected to the board of directors of TU Electric and was made principal financial officer of Texas Utilities Company.

Civic Involvement
Baker serves his community with the same energy and leadership he brings to his professional commitments. He is currently President of the Circle 10 Council of Boy Scouts of America, President of the City of Dallas' Park and Recreation Board, a director of Children's Medical Center of Dallas and he serves on the board of the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce having also been its chairman. He has also served as a trustee of Paul Quinn College, chairman of the Central Dallas Association and the Downtown Improvement District and chairman of the Dallas Together Forum.

Education
Baker graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

Family
Tom has been married for 42 years, and he and his wife have two children and six grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys riding his two Harley Davidson motorcycles.
