“This year’s drill featured a ‘hostile action’ component, which provided us with an invaluable opportunity to assess our skills and collaborate with numerous federal, state and local agencies,” said John Dreyfuss, Comanche Peak plant manager. “We appreciate and want to thank all of the exercise participants for their efforts to continually enhance Comanche Peak’s safety and security procedures.”

The multi-site exercise included full-scale activation at both the plant near Glen Rose and the designated joint information center at Granbury City Hall, where participants also simulated a series of mock press briefings. The exercise also included the participation of numerous offsite response organizations surrounding the plant.

In total, more than 400 role players, including Comanche Peak employees, representatives from the Texas Department of State Health Services and Hood and Somervell County police departments, among other state and federal officials, participated in the drill.
