With the recent promotions of Stacey Doré to senior vice president and general counsel at Energy Future Holdings and Stephanie Zapata Moore to Luminant’s vice president and general counsel, EFH has added to the growing number of women serving as top legal officers at Fortune 500 companies and increased the leadership of women in the power industry.

Doré and Moore join Cecily Gooch, TXU Energy’s vice president and general counsel, as EFH’s top-ranking attorneys and form the company’s all-woman general counsel team.

“Our new general counsels, Stacey Doré and Stephanie Zapata Moore, were promoted from within our company, which is a testament to the great depth of talent at our organization,” said John Young, CEO, EFH. “They are proven professionals who have successfully represented our company’s legal interests, and I believe we will benefit greatly from their leadership in the years to come, as will our industry,” added Young.

Doré, previously Luminant’s general counsel, succeeds Rob Walters, who served as EFH’s interim general counsel. She has been an integral part of the company’s legal team since she joined EFH in 2008 from Vinson & Elkins. Doré graduated with a bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and received her law degree from Harvard Law School.

Moore joined the Luminant legal team in 2005 from Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP and has extensive experience representing the company’s interests, from commercial wholesale trading to generation, mining and environmental matters. She received her undergraduate degree from Duke University and her law degree from William & Mary School of Law.

Gooch has led both legal and regulatory compliance for TXU Energy since joining the company in 2004 from Hunton & Williams LLP. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas and received her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law.
