Students spend summer applying classroom skills to powering Texas
EFH and Luminant’s summer 2015 intern class brings together a talented group of 27 students from 15 universities across six states. Interns are currently working at the company’s power plants and mines and corporate offices with responsibilities ranging from mine engineering to cyber security.
The interns first gathered at Luminant Academy in Tyler for orientation before heading to their work assignments across Texas. In their first few weeks on the job, they’ve already made big strides in helping the company power Texas with experiences including conducting safety briefings, pitching in on public policy work in Austin and assisting a dragline survey crew.
Recently, our interns took a break from powering Texas and came together at Senter Park Recreation Center in Irving to put their energy in action to help United Way of Metropolitan Dallas silence the growl of summer hunger with fun activities and backpacks full of healthy food for local children in need.
