Comanche Peak safety manager shapes the future of nuclear energy with inspired safety program.
With 37 years of nuclear energy experience under his hard hat, Steve Nowak has seen the focus on safety evolve at the nation’s power plants. It’s the care with which employees at Luminant’s Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant approach safety that has him excited about the future of energy.
“The real key to innovation and new ideas is getting the employees involved in safety programs,” Nowak, Comanche Peak safety manager, says. “When I see employees watching out for each other, and really just caring about each other, it actually gives me goose bumps.”
