EFH named Corporation of the Year by Women's Business Council Southwest
The Women’s Business Council Southwest held its annual Parade of Stars Gala at the Omni Hotel in Dallas on Thursday, Jan. 19, and there named Energy Future Holdings the WBCS Corporation of the Year. The award recognizes an outstanding commitment to working with women-owned businesses.
“This award signifies that we are on a great path to promoting the excellent work being done by Luminant, TXU Energy and EFH in the development and utilization of companies owned by women and minorities,” says Cheryl Stevens, EFH vice president of supplier diversity.
For over twenty years, EFH has been committed to developing and working with businesses owned and operated by women and minorities, and has implemented the “Rule of at Least One” which promotes the inclusion of women’s business enterprises in every request for proposal.
Although the company has been named Corporation of the Year previously (as TXU Corp), this is its first time to receive the recognition as EFH.
