VIDEO: Winners Named in 2012 TXU Energy Student Film Contest

Watch as six student filmmakers' dreams come true at the Dallas International Film Festival

2012-film-winners-stories-landingLights, Camera, Action! Friday, April 20, six student filmmakers from across Texas attended the Dallas International Film Festival as part of the TXU Energy Light Up the Red Carpet Student Film Contest.

The students had their films screened in the festival, walked the red carpet and met celebrities and experts in the film industry.

Dillon White, a student at Northlake College in Irving, won the college division grand prize for his film titled “Zap”. Zap features a clever and energy conscious dog that saves money by turning off house lights while his owner is a way.

Abelardo Gonzalez from the Vidal M. Trevino Magnet in Laredo,Texas won the high school division grand prize. His film “No Blackout” is a music video complete with conservation tips, electric vehicles and fluorescent light bulbs.
